Are there any tarot card readers on Yahoo answers?
Because I got the 9 of cups card of the Aquarian Tarot Deck. I feel like I should be friends for any Tarot card readers to get to know them and start to Yahoo message them. So any tarot card readers?
Answer by LiveReadings
9 of cups can have several meanings depending on the question asked and the placement in the spread.
It is a card of reassesment before committment in the affairs of the heart, whether that be your hearts desire for life or a relationship.
It can mean you need to decide what fulfills you, what are your dreams you want’ fulfilled.
I can also mean that you are about to have your dreams come true or you are looking for fulfillment.
Cards don’t mean much and can be ambiguous without the relationship of the question, placement in the spread, type of spread and surrounding cards.

Everyone has their own way of tuning into the deck for them. My advice would be for you to go to the bookstore and study the decks that they have there. If you find a deck that “speaks” to you then get it. Most decks come with a companion book that goes over the meanings to the cards as well as the spreads you can use.
Believe or not a pretty good book is the Idiot’s Guide I know some people who have it and they really like it.

OK. There are broadly two main uses for tarot cards and the answer to your question depends on how you choose to use them.
The original use, unfamiliar to the English speaking world but popular throughout continental Europe, is for a family of card games. In fact, the picture cards of tarot were the first trump cards! These games are all what we call point-trick games, this means that like bridge, whist, or spades, players win cards in tricks – but unlike those games, different cards carry different point values and so it is not the number of tricks won that wins you the game but the number of card points contained within them. There are two types of tarot pack used for playing games, there are those that feature the old traditional Italian designs, and there are those that have French suits with various themed trump suits (such as Asterix comics, or local scenery, ect).
For rules on how to play the games and where to buy the cards for them:
The other – and in English speaking countries, the most familiar – use for tarot is for divination. This practice only dates to the end of the 19th century in France.
There are a huge number of methods offerend for this use, so I would suggest looking here:

First, get a deck. Something that looks pretty to you, and something that you want to look at. I like cards with lots of color and lots of different elements and symbols on them. You may have different taste.
Some bookstores have beginner tarot decks, which include a book in the box. My first tarot set was Easy Tarot: Learn to Read the Cards Once and For All, by Josephine Ellershaw with cards by Ciro Marcetti.
The library in section 133. is where the tarot books are. The best way you will learn is through reading books and practice. Just don’t go haywire and buy up a bunch of books in the beginning.
There is a Tarot Certification Board of America, and that website has exams for competency. If you read the exam demands you will get a sense of what you can work on to improve your readings.
