Download Solitaire 1-2-3 and immerse yourself in the glory of oblivious (yet pointless) gaming. It’s like masturbation, but you don’t need genitals to do it.

Answer by Geezah
First, get a general idea of what each of the cards mean. They’re basically a collection of 78 different mythological archetypes, which in turn reflect various “universal” themes we go though in life (birth, death, debate, defeat, creativity, wealth, etc.). There are plenty of on-line sources for this, but I think it’s best to just buy a couple of different books on the subject, since they have a lot more information anyway. Two books I’d highly suggest are the “Tarot Bible” by Anna Bartlett and The Little Black Book Of Tarot by Nannette Stone. You can find both on Amazon at a combined price that’s less than some Tarot decks themselves.

As for how to go about it, you can just start with very simple spreads. You could think of a question, then pull out a random card and philosophically interpret its meaning. Or you could lay down three cards for past-present-future, etc. Even the instruction book that comes with the cards should have some simple examples.

As far as special ways to store the cards, how to meditatively begin a reading, etc., there really are no “rules” for this. ALL these things really do is just add to the esoteric appeal. If you want to incorporate something like this, you’re free to do so, but nothing “bad” is going to happen if you don’t keep the cards wrapped in silk or whatever. Just keep them in a condition suitable for practical purposes: like any deck of cards they’ll need some breaking in, but don’t abuse them.

I’m pretty sure all you have to do is stick them up your ass, and you’ll get the same results as reading them.

is it bad luck to write with permanant marker on the back of the tarot cards what they mean?
casuse i did that cause i hated looking at the minipaper that came with them to decifer the meanings so i wrote it on the back of each card. is it bad luck or something? anyone know anything about superstitions and tarot?

Answer by John F
No. Tarot is just a game, like any other so-called superstition.

Answer by Obey me or go to hell. Love, god
Yes, I think the magic tarot spirits will kill you with lasers from their eyes.

P.S. Tarot is definitely a superstition. You people are morons.

Answer by Helen
Superstitions are for the superstitious. Nevertheless, I have never heard of any such superstition, it will just spoil your cards but if you don’t mind that then there is no problem.

P.S. Tarot≠superstition.

Answer by MarlaMartian
no, there’s nothing wrong with it. it ruins the integrity of the cards, but it’s not a big deal. in fact, it’s kind of a good idea.

Are all tarot cards bad to mess with?
my niece wants to make some tarot-like cards to play harry potter with. would it be okay if shes just playing and pretending, and not actually reading them? we’re christian by the way!

Answer by Graybeard
Tarot-card reading is a complete fraud; they’re just pieces of paper with no magical powers and no special meaning. No one has any ability to predict the future with them, or anything else. So you can make up anything that you like.

Answer by Pam Richards
Hello

They are 78 pieces of laminated paper, so unless you get a paper cut they are of no harm. I have studied them for over 20 years. Evil lies within the hearts & minds of humans not within pictured cards.

Have fun with your niece & make precious memories.

Pam

Answer by lured
whether you are christian or something else, cards themselves will not put you in any danger. they do not have magical power or anything. cartomancy is done with playing cards. but dont we mess around with them by playing bridge and spades? tarot cards were made for playing games also. so it is really okay.

Answer by Rev. Lynn D.
Tarot cards are not bad not matter how you use them but if you buy into the religious view that they are “bad”, it still would be ok to use them to play with…..but by the way, many Christians are against Harry Potter due to the subject matter……so there is something else that you are told is bad………..

Tarot cards do not predict the future
They guide you through the possible future

Secondly, all tarot cards are different, so you need to know the exact make. Most decks come with a beginner’s users guide

You can use them whenever you want

You can store them wherever you want, although I suggest the bedroom. You spend most of your time there sleeping.

Add: A pretty easy and universal spread is the past, present, future. Clear the deck by knocking on it with your middle knuckle of your dominant hand. Shuffle, from the top of the pile from left to right, place 3 cards. The image of the card is also important. Look for symbolism. Dont just take the face meaning of the card. Look deeper into it.

They don’t show the “future”. They show what may occur.

I keep mine on some shelf somewhere.

I pray you never play with them. They are dangerous. You may think they are harmless. It is the devil’s lie. You are playing really with a forrest fire when you start to dabble in the Occult. Telling fortunes is forbidden by God.
You will open yourself up to demons. They will not just go away when you get scared and put the deck away. Those demons will never leave you unless you repent and come to the Lord Jesus. There is no other name by which to make a demon flee from you or anyone.
But only if you have repented for dabbling in the occult.
I am strongly warning you against this idea that tarot cards are harmless.

A forbidden practice is something that is an abomination to the Lord. This means Gods hates these things and does not want His children to have any thing to do with them. God tells us very clearly nine things that He hates. “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. here shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God (Deuteronomy 18:9-13).
God wants us to stay away from these things, not because He wants to control us, or deprive us of anything, but because He loves us, and knows these things are very dangerous. He wants us to stay away from these things regardless of what form they are in. For example, these occult practices may be the theme of a game, or a movie, or a book. If any of these themes are in something, do yourself a favor and avoid it.

The tarot (first known as tarocchi, also tarock and similar names), pronounced /ˈtɑːroʊ/, is a pack of seventy-eight cards, used from the mid fifteenth century in various parts of Europe to play card games such as Italian Tarocchini and French Tarot. In English-speaking countries, where these games are largely unknown, Tarot cards are now used primarily for divinatory purposes ( Wikipedia)

Sleep with the Tarot Deck under your pillow nightly for 7 days. Study the cards and meanings until you get a good working knowledge of them. Decide which type of spread you feel comfortable with. There are many books on the subject and classes are available usually at New Age book stores. Ask your spirit guides to assist you before each reading and don’t forget to thank them afterward. Practice on friends and family until you begin to feel more comfortable.

Store you cards in silk. There are silk tarot bags that you can purchase. You may allow the person you are reading for to touch and shuffle the cards, but do not let other people DO READINGS with your cards. The connection is with you and spirit only with your cards.

    Best Wishes

You can do what you like with your Tarot cards – they are your Tarot cards! If it helps to write some of the keywords on the back, then that’s fine. In fact, I think that there are some Tarot decks that have the keywords on them already! You might also like to buy a second deck as your ‘real’ deck for when you start to practice readings with others and don’t want to have the cards written on.
